Skills In The World Of Digitalization

Skills In The World Of Digitalization

The rapid spread of digitalisation and artificial intelligence, along with advances in mobile Internet and cloud technology are impacting the way work is done. Here are 10 new skills to stay ahead of the curve.

  1. AI/machine learning Researcher

Research improvements to machine learning algorithms will be one of the hot skills of future.  A PhD is the qualification desired for this.

  1. AI Software Development

Here a proficiency in program management and testing of the systems and infrastructure applicable to machines related to data input is expected.  Similar to any other Software engineer, a bachelor degree in Computer Science is desired for this skill and some understanding on the machine learning will be an added advantage.

  1. Human Interaction Designer

Interaction design is a process wherein designers focus on creating web interfaces with logical and well thought out behaviour and actions. Here Technology related to good communication principles will be desirable.

  1. Machine learning applications.

Machine learning frame work or AI framework applied to a specific problem in a different domain is desired.  Ex: Applying machine learning to gesture recognition, ad analysis or fraud detection.  Persons working in this area, can do this will little guidance from someone familiar with framework they want to use.

  1. Full Stack Developers:

This is an area wherein end-to-end applications from front end to business logic to back end is involved.  A full stack developer does not necessarily master all technologies.  He should feel comfortable working with those technologies being used.

  1. 3D Design

The dependency of 3D printing is mainly on Designers who have the product idea and are able to translate it to real life scenario.  The 3D printing will create jobs for 3D designers at 3D printing firms, in companies as part of creative teams and as freelancers.

  1. Content Engineering

This is a practice followed to shape, structure and apply the contents.  It is broken in to five primary disciplines viz: model, metadata, markup, schema and taxonomy.  The strategist plans for creation, publication and governance of useful, usable content.  It is aimed to target as to who, what, when and where and why the content experiences are used.

  1. Data Fluency

The future depends on ability to work with data and make data based decisions. Employers are already on the job of building the necessary workforce with good skills in data analysis and presentation through visualisation and other effective modes, and the amount potentially useful digital information generated and stored keeps increasing exponentially.

  1. Thinking out of the Box

A rapid change in technology and business growth expects one to build, lead, maintain and market them.  Jobs which are least susceptible to computerization would be those dependent on social intelligence, decision making abilities and innovation.

  1. People Skills:

People should develop skills in the areas of Management, Coordinating with others, Collaboration etc., This enables one to maintain social and emotional intelligence and thus brings out human capabilities and knowledge which a Robot cannot bring out.
